(acm/mps) As sporty as she managed the course in the round and the jump-off, she also presented herself in the leap of honor in the Mercedes-Benz C 180 K Sportcoupé. With a real forced ride without any penalty points in 37,51 seconds in the jump-off on Authentic, the 8-year old gelding, Beezie Madden (USA) won the title in the MERCEDES GERMAN MASTER and thus the winner’s car worth 31.000 Euro. One day after her 40th birthday, the woman show-jumper from Cazenovia / New York subscribed as the second female rider into the winners’ lists of the traditional test which had been won by Catherine Burdsall, her compatriot, in 1987. Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (Thedinghausen) became second in the show jumping test which is the second highest remunerated test of the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS, the 19th international riding and show jumping competition, with a total of 67.600 Euro. In 38,00 seconds, she also had a clear round on Shutterfly, and ended up ahead of Jeroen Dubbeldam (NED), the Olympic winner on Partytime (0/39,06).
“I would like to take the credit for myself, but especially for the jump-off, I have to give the credit to my horse”, said the eighth of the world ranking list happily about the performance of Authentic. “He has grown with the task and was on the spot.” In particular, the beaming winner was glad about the winner’s price. “To be honest, this is the very first car, that I have ever won. And as it is a Mercedes, this will be very difficult to surpass, I think.“ The representative of the main sponsor was also more than satisfied with the successful test. “A winner from the USA, or from a foreign country in general, underlines the international character of this competition”, explained Thomas Zell, the director of the Mercedes-Benz-branch in Stuttgart. “The reaction of the spectators was great, we have experienced a fantastic atmosphere. This competition is really unique.”
