Minute difference: Jessica Kürten wins the LADIES GERMAN MASTER

(acm/mps) Two clear rounds, 49,73 seconds in the second round – Jessica Kürten (Ireland) outdistanced all the top female show jumpers in the LADIES GERMAN MASTER. On Quibell, the Irishwoman, who will celebrate her 34th birthday on Monday, won the desired female show jumper’s title as well as the price money of 5.000 Euro and thus, succeeded Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (Thedinghausen). But in the end, it was only a minute difference which decided the female show jumpers test at the STUTTGART GERMAN MASTERS, the 19th international riding and show jumping competition. Pia-Luise Aufrecht (Affalterbach) also managed both rounds without any penalty points and was on Hofgut Liederbach’s Eburovic Grand Pre in 49,75 seconds only slightly slower than the winner. Thus, the 26-year old just slightly missed her second success in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle after 1998. Eva Bitter (Münster) on Argelith Stakkato (0/0/51,62) ended up in the third position.

“The LADIES GERMAN MASTER is a very charming test“, said the Irishwoman who has been living in Germany for exactly nine years, about the importance of her success. “Today, this has been a great test, and the fact that I have also won, makes the whole matter perfect.” Gotthilf Riexinger, the competition director, praised the nine-year old mare as an inexperienced but fantastic horse. “It was a very close, but finally a deserved victory considering the performance of both rounds”, said Riexinger.
